In a new study tracking the lives of polar bears near Churchill, Man., researchers aimed to find out what they're living on when they can't hunt during summers free of sea ice. Some conserved energy while others scrambled for food, but nearly all lost weight — raising concerns about starvation risks in the future as sea ice continues to decline.
