B.C. pianist wins big at Leeds International Piano Competition

Canadian pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, 25, performs Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 during the final round of the 2024 Montreal International Music Competition.

A B.C.-born pianist has won the Leeds International Piano Competition — known as one of the most prestigious prizes in classical music. Jaeden Izik-Dzurko from Salmon Arm, about 460 kilometres northeast of Vancouver, took home the top prize, winning more than $50,000 and international recital tours.
